Every second Friday of the month we organize a whisky tasting. Everyone is welcome, whisky experience is not required. On this evening we taste six special whiskies in two sets of three. We start the evening with 'the warm-up' and end the evening with 'the winner', so you taste eight whiskies in total.

What can you expect?

A tasting at Het Wapen van Scotland looks like this: at 21:00 the participants gather at the bar and we start with 'the warm-up', our house whiskey The Famous Hooghalen, to let the taste buds get used to the alcohol. Then we serve the whiskies of the tasting in two sets of three. An appropriate snack is served with each whisky and we tell you something about the whiskies.

We use an assessment form to jointly determine how smell and taste work. Ultimately, of course, you decide which whisky you like best, by assigning points and at the end of the evening we will announce the winner of the evening. We conclude our evening with a taste of 'the winner' – the whisky that was voted the best whisky of the evening the previous month.

Warning

Folk singer Jouke MacAuckema is usually present at our tastings, he always gets us (whether or not through the whiskies) singing along to songs about Scotland and whisky.
